Medicaid is a program for people of Missouri who can't afford to pay for medical care. The Missouri Dept of Social Services has MO HealthNet program which provides medical services to people who meet the eligibility requirements as determined by Family Services Division (FSD). The goals of the Medicaid are to promote good health, to prevent and treat illness and premature death. It also looks after people with disabilities by attempting to correct or limit disability and to provide rehabilitation to people with disabilities. A person must be a resident of the state of Missouri, a U.S. national, citizen, permanent resident, or legal alien, in need of health care/insurance assistance, whose financial situation is identified as low income or very low income.
