Drug Ring Charged with Distributing 1 Ton of Marijuana

A Rockland County drug trafficking ring, referred to as the “Foote Organization”, has been indited for the distribution of 1 ton of marijuana, the Drug Enforcement Administration announced on the 13th of January.  The ring consisted of 26 members, all named in the DEA’s report.  The DEA alleged that, between May of 2006 through January of 2011 was when the bulk of the drugs was distributed throughout New York, Mount Vernon, Claskstown, Ramapo, Spring Valley, as well as other area.


Commenting on the situation, DEA Special Agent-in-Charge JOHN P. GILBRIDE said: “This operation successfully dismantled a large distribution organization that was smuggling marijuana from the Southwest region across the United States into New York. Marijuana is the most widely abused drug in the United States and large scale trafficking organizations continue to reap huge profits from its distribution. Law enforcement will not sit idly by while those whose intent is to profit by putting illegal drugs on our streets.”
