A report from SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration) shows that alcohol addiction in MA has seen rising trends with about 103,000 of adolescents using alcohol in recent months. Binge drinking is described as taking more than 5 drinks during a single event at least once in a month. The trends noted between men and women in Massachusetts for binge drinking was almost similar. 17.6% males and 22.9 % females were currently recorded as abusing alcohol. The data was derived from national surveys conducted by SAMSHA. Alcohol addiction carries with it several serious problems.
