Binge drinking is described as taking more than 5 drinks during a single event at least once in a month. The trends noted between men and women in Massachusetts for binge drinking was almost similar. 17.6% males and 22.9 % females were currently recorded as abusing alcohol. The data was derived from national surveys conducted by SAMSHA. Alcohol addiction carries with it several serious problems.
