What therapy approach(es) do you utilize? What issues do you specify treatment for?

My belief is that EVERYONE has the innate ability towards change, healing and positive growth even through life's toughest challenges. Counseling provides a unique opportunity to connect and identify factors that contribute to life's obstacles, while also providing an opportunity for learning healthy & effective coping skills. I have a multitude of clinical experiences that have fostered my unique skill set; all of which are essential in providing exceptional therapeutic work. Counseling is NOT a "one size fits all," experience; rather an individualistic, empathic relationship, where clients are supported while also challenged to grow & thrive. Although not my only speciality, through my experience at The Childrens Hospital of Colorado, I have acquired my unique specialization in Eating Disorders, body Image, distorted eating, and self esteem.

How does one know if therapy is right for them?

Counseling is a very difficult process to start, especially if we aren't sure of what to expect, even harder if they have had a negative counseling experience in the past. I believe that individuals have a healthy gravitation towards health and happiness, and can intuitively detect if they are in place that therapy may be helpful for them.

What can one expect to gain from therapy?

Counseling is a dynamic and layered process, as well personal! Each person gains something different from their investment and time. I believe it's important to establish goals and insight on what individuals hope to gain, so that the therapist and client can collaborate a way to reach these goals.

What is unique about you as a therapist?

To help facilitate a journey of self-discovery where change can BLOSSOM & THRIVE, I utilize a variety of psychotherapy techniques that are individually suited to each client. The foundation of my therapeutic style is grounded in Carl Rogers' Person Centered or Rogerian Psychotherapy.

I am passionate about this therapeutic approach, as it based on a strong belief that the client is the expert, as they have lived and lead their own lives. Paying respect to that, I conceptualize my role as the therapist based on a philosophy that it is crucial the therapist focuses on providing an EMPATHIC & GENUINE foundation for the client and therapist relationship to build upon. This authentic counseling environment allows clients to grow and connect on a deeper and meaningful level. Connecting and changing negative influences in their lives. As a result of this growth, clients increase their ability to cope through hard times, and develop a better understanding and appreciation of their self, and feelings."
