A Place to Start

Aspira Wellness and Education is a wholly-owned for-profit subsidiary of Aspiranet- a 501(c)(3) social services agency with 35 core family support programs in 44 locations, run by over 1,100 compassionate employees committed to strengthening and empowering communities throughout California. As a behavioral health group practice that provides therapy in the Central Valley and Southern California areas, Aspira’s experienced and skilled therapists serve hundreds of individuals and families each year.

Aspira Wellness & Education was borne from Aspiranet’s organizational competency in providing therapeutic behavioral health services to children in the care of Aspiranet foster families. Over time, the organization developed a strong network of therapists and practitioners committed to and specializing in treating all parts of the family unit.

Aspira Wellness & Education was formed to make our expertise available to individuals, couples and families in need of our services with private insurance or private-pay sliding-scale behavioral health services.

Individual, Couples and Family Therapy

Aspira Wellness & Education provides individual, couples and family therapy by trained and experienced behavioral health professionals. Providers include: licensed psychologists, licensed marriage and family therapists, licensed clinical social workers and registered interns and associates.

In therapy, an intentional interpersonal relationship is developed between the client and therapist and the goals for the therapy program are agreed upon. The overall goal of Aspira’s therapy programs is to increase a sense of well-being in clients and encourage them to reach their full potential while improving relationships and coping with life challenges.

A range of techniques are employed including dialogue, self-awareness strategies and behavior change. Therapy may address specific forms of diagnosable mental illness, everyday problems in managing or maintaining interpersonal relationships or meeting personal goals. Therapy for families with children can favorably influence a child’s emotional and social development and educational success.

Specialized Group Therapy

Specialized Group Therapy is offered on a variety of subjects and is specific to each location. Please contact Aspira to learn more or visit their locations page to call your local office to get more information.

Psychiatric Evaluations and Medication Monitoring

Psychiatric services are offered by Aspira’s qualified psychiatric medical doctors. Psychiatry includes evaluations and the administration of prescription medications when necessary.  Most often, when a client is receiving psychiatric services, it is in combination with ongoing therapy for optimal benefit.

Special Programs

Beyond traditional therapy, Aspira offers a variety of special programs. Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) provides all parents, including birth, foster and adoptive, with tested behavioral management and relationship enhancing tools. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) helps individual clients, from teen years and older to reduce suffering, increase skills that will replace ineffective coping behaviors, gain control of their reactions and “help the client move from a state of quiet desperation to one of full emotional experiencing.” F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is a social skills group program for participants ages 5-21, providing services to participants of all skill levels.
