Homeless Ex-Drug Addict Sweeps the Nation with "Golden Voice"

January 11th, 2011

A majestic voice and a little internet success helped turn around the life of Ted Williams. Once a successful radio announcer, Williams became heavily involved with drugs and alcohol, leading him to live in a tent near a highway and beg for change on the streets. His talents went to waste, largely unheard until the Columbus Dispatch posted a video of him begging for money in exchange for sharing his “golden voice.”

The publication of this video has caused Williams to become an instant celebrity. He has received countless job offers, including one from NFL films and another from Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, and has appeared on several television programs. Williams’ story of climbing back up from rock bottom is as inspirational as it is educational, proving that there is still hope to be found in the most trying of times for drug addicts.
