Introduction
Nicotine, the main addictive chemical found in cigarettes, is unique to the drug spectrum. It is legal, highly addictive, and readily available at any gas station or grocery store you might find yourself in during your day to day activites. In 2000, smoking tobacco was so wide spread 1.22 billion in the world were known to smoke.
Many people have tried to quit smoking, often straining for years on end without any success, or constantly relapsing, such is the addictive power of the cigarette. The fact is, most who make a serious attempt to quit will relapse 3 times before they give it up cold turkey.
I smoked for five years, for three of those years my new years resolution was to quit, and each time I hardly made it past a day or two. It was a long process to quit, fought with disappointment, deception, and anger. By the end, I was buying a pack of cigarettes to smoke one before I got angry with myself and threw the whole pack away. I wasted hundreds of dollars a month trying to quit, and I wasted it needlessly.
What finally helped me kick the habit may be exactly what you need too. Scientific knowledge about what exactly you are up against broken down into terms you can understand and use in your arsenal of weaponry against your habit of smoking. The right methods, after all there a hundreds who claim to have the best method of quitting, often selling you higher doses of nicotine than you were getting through the cigarettes in the first place. And finally, just a little bit of hope, the knowledge that others have been where you are before, have dealt with what you are dealing with, who have relapsed, who have failed quit time and again, and yet have successfully kicked the habit for good.
